Kirsten James will provide participants with resources and tools to improve their grant writing skills. This is a great workshop for artists and organizations that would like to learn about effective grant writing strategies and are interested in learning about how grants are awarded.
Kirsten Brandt James, brings over 25 years of nonprofit management and fundraising experience. Kirsten currently serves as the Executive Director of Project Transformation. She previously served as Executive Director of Alley’s House helping teen mothers complete their education and learn life skills. For 22 years, Kirsten was the Executive Director of Junior Players and oversaw exponential growth for the arts education agency as it grew to serve thousands of youth with free arts programs throughout North Texas. Kirsten is passionate about access and opportunity for all youth.
Kirsten holds degrees in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin Madison and Austin College.

The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is pleased to announce ART CLUB, a series of workshops for artists and cultural organizations. ART CLUB is a program created and administered by the Oak Cliff Cultural Center with the goal of providing local artists and organizations with educational resources to grow their careers and network. ART = Access, Resources, Tools. The program offers a variety of workshops and meeting sessions with professionals at the helm. ART CLUB is designed to answer questions, provide an environment for growth, and create a network of well-equipped artists.
Make sure to stick around after the workshops for a Happy Hour! Each session will end with a networking event to encourage community and collaboration. This is a great opportunity to mingle and chat with other artists in the community.
The inaugural series of ART CLUB will feature three writing workshops presented by artists and arts professionals.
