Willkommen! In collaboration with Arts Mission Oak Cliff (AMOC), Brian Harden, Oak Cliff resident and founder of The Lost Boy Presents, brings a contemporary rendition of Cabaret to the neighborhood. The production – a first for the neighborhood – is helmed by a team of nationally-renowned and accomplished local arts workers – theatermakers, dancers, musicians, and designers. The project not only showcases the talented creatives who call Dallas home, but underscores the artistic roots of the place many in the metroplex and state have grown to love for its whimsy and charm: Bishop ARTS.

The historic sanctuary of AMOC, which mirrors the sanctity of the Kit Kat Club, provides an immersive and intimate setting for the show’s historically-relevant and politically provocative narrative set in 1931 Berlin. As romances develop in this modern-iteration of the Broadway classic, so does the swelling tide to suppress individuality and increase conformity with the Nazi ideal.

Slated for 8 performances at AMOC, audiences will indulge in this fresh rendering of classic theatre full of jaw dropping music, scandalous dance numbers and bold casting choices. This story is a reflection of the makers, the neighborhood, and the world. The creative team intentionally reclaims the narrative and celebrates self-expression. Cabaret is a story that must be told and, in true Oak Cliff-fashion, we’re doing it together.
